- French TV confirmed Tuesday evening that there will be a stage to Mont Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez will be climbed twice in the same stage and the final stage will be a Paris circuit with the race finishing at around 9:30pm in the evening. They are hoping for a nice sunset as a backdrop. Also confirmed stages to Montpellier and Mont Saint-Michel. - Before the route is revealed, it is expected that ASO president Jean-Etienne Amaury and Tour director Christian Prudhomme will comment on the latest crisis in pro cycling, the biggest in the sport's history, following the stripping of Lance Armstrong's 7 victories in the TDF. Riders expected to attend the event, held at the Palais des Congres in Paris, include Alberto Contador, Andy Schleck, Cadel Evans, Bradley Wiggins, Philippe Gilbert, Mark Cavendish, and Pierre Rolland according to French sports daily L'Equipe. - The 2013 Tour de France will start on the island of Corsica which will host the first three stages. The race will then move to the mainland where there will be a Team Time Trial at Nice. It is expected that the 2013 TDF will be very mountainous, including stages to Mont Ventoux and Alpe d'Huez. According to France TV, the final stage, for the sprinters, will be run from Versailles to Paris in the evening under the lights of Paris. If true, the stage would need to finish quite late in the evening on the final day. More details here. All will be revealed on Wednesday.
