2012 Tour Down Under: Stage 5 to Willunga Hill came down to a sprint between Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) and Simon Gerrans (GreenEdge). Valverde won the stage, Gerrans took over the race lead, with the two riders tied on overall time. Tiago Machado (RadioShack-Nissan), rear, was third.

2012 Tour Down Under: Martin Kohler (BMC) lost the race lead, falling to 15th in the overall classification.

- Sunday's (Saturday night U.S.) Tour Down Under Stage 6 departs Adelaide at 1:10pm local (9:40pm U.S. Eastern Saturday, 3:40am CET) and is expected at the finish at Adelaide at around 3:15pm local (11:45pm U.S. Eastern Saturday, 5:45am CET). Tour Down Under live radio streaming will be available throughout. Live VIDEO is also expected.
