2009 Tour of Qatar:  Frederiek Nolf before Stage 3

- Today's stage was shortened (to just 40km) and neutralized following the tragic death overnight, in his sleep, of young rider Frederiek Nolf (Team Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator).  "Cycling is in mourning when you lose such a young talent, a guy like him," said cycling legend Eddy Merckx, who is the technical sponsor for the team.  More here.  Our condolences to the family and friends of Frederiek.

- The Tour of Qatar Stage 5 starts at 12:27pm local time (10:27 CET or 4:27am U.S. Eastern) on Thursday.  Eurosport LIVE coverage of Stage 5 is scheduled to begin at 13:00 CET (7:00am U.S. Eastern).
