Tour de Cycling - Thursday
Submitted by admin on Thu, 04/23/2009 - 07:25- Had a good chat with the Jelajah Malaysia media officer during yesterday's Fleche Wallonne. They're doing some really impressive work, great communication and website. It seems the newer races, and that includes the Tour of California, are leading the way in embracing technology and new forms of communication. Good to see. TDF organizer A.S.O. use string and paper cups...they need to get with it. Pics below are from today's Jelajah Malaysia Stage 5. More pics on their website, links below. -Pete

(02:41) - Giro del Trentino time trial still LIVE via ticker here. - Fleche Wallonne LIVE now on cycling.tv. (North America) - NOS, Sporza and RTBF are all geo-restricted today. We've got Eurosport on TV but they are still with a hotly-contested snooker match. Stay tuned. - 7 of the 8 tickers we are listing are currently live with the race. Pick your language. (links at right) - If you have satellite coverage, MJ Ray has Fleche Wallonne info in our cycling via satellite blog here. - Someone asked about "CET" vs. "CEST" for Europe times. Technically, most of Europe is on "CEST" (summer time) but "CET" is the more common designation year-round. In fact, 20 years in Europe and I've rarely seen people use "CEST". Most cycling websites also use "CET" year-round, as do our European correspondents. -Pete - The Giro del Trentino starts today with a Stage 1 Individual Time Trial. There is no live television coverage but there is a Giro del Trentino live ticker here. - The 2009 Fleche Wallonne is officially underway with the peloton having just finished riding in the neutral zone in the streets of Charleroi. The official site ticker is now live.
- More links and info to come, updated during the race.
