The Volta a Portugal gets underway with a 2.4 kilometer prologue in Lisbon. Vuelta a Burgos (Burgos province of Spain) Stage 1 is 143 km from Ona to Briviesca. Expected on the start line in Portugal: Plaza, Nozal I., Cunego, Tiralongo, Mori, Cioni, Petacchi, Ongarato, Scheirlinckx, Meirhaeghe, Dewaele, Sinkewitz, Hondo. 2009 Clasica San Sebastian: Andy Schleck (Team Saxo Bank) crashed in Saturday's race, ultimately had to withdraw, and is now in doubt for the Vuelta a Espana (August 29-September 20).
