Notes:
- An earlier message on the Tour of Missouri
site about a live broadcast of the press conference has been removed,
so perhaps they aren't streaming the press conference after all...
- The
Tour of Missouri
starts tomorrow. This afternoon's opening press
conference will be broadcast live over the net
here
at 4pm U.S. Eastern. We will have links and info throughout
the six-day race.
Starting tomorrow
Tour of Missouri LIVE video
streaming
- If you get an error message when you
go to cycling.tv, click on the "Live races" tab. That
should open a second window from which you can select the link for today's
Free coverage or Vuelta channel coverage. To
then actually view the Vuelta channel (subscription only), you must scroll
down on the page that displays the video window and select the 800kbs
or 1200kbs stream.
- We asked Tour of Britain organizers
about possible live coverage of their event. They tell us
"There is expected to be live regional coverage from the BBC but there
is a 2 hour programme on BBC 2 on Sunday 16 September." Thanks Debbie.
Our own Bernie S. in the U.K. confirms: "No nothing live at
all, BBC will have highlights at the end of the race, maybe over the net
on their site as well." Hopefully starting next year they will have
some live video streaming.
Meanwhile, through September 15 you CAN follow Tour of Britain
live Twitter text updates
here.
Mark Cavendish of T-Mobile, in
yellow after winning yesterday's prologue, just won stage 1 as
well. We will be posting regular Tour of Britain links and photos
right here starting tomorrow.
- Eurosport is now playing today's
Vuelta stage live.
- Cycling.tv is now showing today's
stage of the Vuelta live. Eurosport live coverage should
follow shortly.
- Today's stage of the Tour of Poland
is now streaming live. Link below.
- We thought cycling.tv would be live
by now with today's stage of the Vuelta, according to their schedule.
If they are live, we are not yet able to connect. Perhaps
their earlier than usual start time was posted in error? If so,
they should go live in a few minutes.
More Vuelta fireworks today
- Also on today:
Tour of Poland on
here.

Below is our Guide
to Live Coverage of the Vuelta a Espana
2007 Tour de l'Avenir
The 44th Tour de l'Avenir (Tour of the Future)
starts today and runs through September 15 for 10
stages.
For the first time since 1980, this race is made up entirely
of national teams. Organized by Tour organizer Amaury Sport
Organization (A.S.O.), the return to national teams may be an indication
of ASO's intentions for the Tour de France itself in the near future.
(ASO is considering inviting a mixture of national teams
and trade teams as early as 2008.)
20 national teams (including French teams A and B) have been
invited, among them Team USA and Team Canada. There
is also a team of mixed nationalities.
Possible starters for Team USA include Peter Stetina,
Chris Barton, Tejay Vangaderen, Taylor Tolleson, Peter Salon, Thomas
Peterson, Craig Lewis, and Chad Beyer.
The photo above is from the 2003 edition of the race, a U.S.
team that featured Shawn Milne and Will Frishkorn
(front row), Patrick McCarty, Mike Creed, Danny Pate,
and Tom Danielson. Interestingly, Frishkorn,
McCarty, Pate and Danielson are all on the roster for Team Slipstream
in 2008 as the U.S. pro cycling landscape changes with the disbanding
of Discovery Channel.
