Notes:

- Congratulations to Chechu Rubiera for his win yesterday in Stage 8 of the Tour of Qinghai Lake in China.  Nicky Orr at chechurubiera.info reports that this was Chechu's first individual stage win for the USPS/Discovery Channel team in six seasons.  Nice to see Chechu get a win after all those years of helping Lance Armstrong in the Tour.

- AFP photographer Joel Saget has sent in a number of photos from earlier in today's stage, available in the Yahoo photo gallery.  Saget is the photographer who captured the shot in 2003 of Lance Armstrong going off the road with an injured Joseba Beloki lying on the tarmac in the foreground.

- What's the fastest way to see photos from today's stage of the Tour de France?  Click on "Yahoo photo gallery" in our Live Guide.  AP and AFP photographers often send in photos immediately after the stage start as well as from the road mid-stage.

- The alternative NOS live video stream is working well at 14:50 CET (8:50am U.S. Eastern).  The Tiny Eurosport live video stream is also working.  Bring your own magnifying glass.  The Eurosport UK and France live audio streams are also working well.

2007 Tour de France Stage 14 Profile

Chris: "He's Back!  Vino Wins Time Trial"  - Stage 13 Report here

Today's stage 14 looks great on paper if you are a cycling fan and less great if you are a cyclist who actually has to ride it.  With 2 beyond category climbs, a category 2 climb, and an uphill finish to Plateau de Beille, it should be a decisive day.  Vino has already promised that he will attack, while other riders will need to do so as well if they are serious about making the final podium.  The first of 3 exciting stages in the Pyrenees begins with a GC without a clear-cut favorite and with several riders within touching distance of the yellow jersey.
