Eurosport France commentator Jacky Durand likes the
Astana
team in this
2008 Giro d'Italia. To be sure, this team
is loaded with talent, including the first and third place finishers in last
year's Tour de France,
Spaniard Alberto Contador and
American
Levi Leipheimer plus
German Andreas Kloden, fresh off his win
last week at the
Tour de Romandie and a TDF podium finisher a couple
of times himself. (And in our "Who will win?" poll, Astana teammates
Kloden, Contador and Leipheimer are the top 3 vote getters so far.)
Indeed, correct us if we're wrong but none of the other contenders has
ever finished in the top 3 of the Tour. So on paper, especially
given all the time trialing, this is Astana's race to lose. But....as
former IHT cycling journalist
Samuel Abt often wrote with humor, races
are rarely run on paper... What kind of form do Contador and Leipheimer
have right now?
- Ross reports that
Eurosport UK audio feed not working for him.
It's not working for us at the moment either. Is it working
for anyone out there?
