Link at right. - French sports daily L'Equipe, the newspaper, often makes for good fish wrap but the publishing group turns out excellent large format book volumes on cycling and the latest is about Le Mont Ventoux: "Tour de France: Le Ventoux, sommet de la folie" ("summit madness"). 111 pages, the book draws from L'Equipe's archives of articles about Mont Ventoux and is illustrated with the work of L'Equipe's superb photographers. Time permitting, I'll take a closer look at this book here before the Tour de France stage to Ventoux. -Pete New book: Tour de France: Le Ventoux, sommet de la folie - Congrats to Steve Putnam for winning the Dauphine Libere poster by correctly picking Bert Grabsch to win Wednesday's TT. Steve credits Phil Liggett for the pick; Liggett said that after a poor Stage 1 TT, Grabsch would ride strong. I have more posters and other race items to give away soon. -Pete - Note: According to a usually reliable source, Dauphine Libere live coverage on Eurosport may start at 15:00 CET (9am U.S. Eastern) instead of at 16:10 CET as indicated on Eurosport's site. That would seem to make sense given the earlier expected finish time. We will monitor the situation at 15:00 CET.
